We don’t defend the Constitution at any cost. There are rules and laws, and they must be followed. A lot of marines in this unit lost sight of this.

Jack ... ?? and he gives his consent visibly affected by what he saw is priceless ... simply brilliant.

i never felt convinced that nicholson's character would break under this type of questioning. seemed a bit contrived that he would ever admit to ordering the "code red", even in a self-righteous moment.

I would like to have seen this movie with another actor playing Lt. Kaffee. Tom Cruise doesn’t have a lot of depth. There are however, a lot of tremendously talented actors in in this film and they carry the weight of this film.
