  • Really nice interview. Great what you can talk about on podcast that people can’t on tv. Highlights how Melo is a nice character but not made up for competing and leading to the highest level. People will love him for being the gentleman they expected him to be. People will hate him for not being the winner people expected him to be. Personally, I just wish he’d be capable to confess what he did wrong at some point for not being a winner. 15 years in the league and he talks like he’s not responsible for losing. His brothers LeBron, Wade, in the same situation, would have done better with the same coaches and the same personnel. They missed talking about the losing season in Gotham which was big in expectations, big in disappointments and eventually led to Phil’s hiring. Someone said Melos been to the playoffs because Billups leadership and Kidd’s. I agree very much with that statement. Melo could not lead other casts to the playoffs, let alone win there. That’s what some people among the Knicks base have against him. Ewing did far better and even though had no rings, fans will always collectively respect and support him.

  • Melo.... i really wish you came sooner to portland... i was so happy to see you on our team, my friends, some family thought you were going to be a "toxic" player, i never buyyed it into that narrative of you. I know this is a players league ever since Kyrie saying he'll stay in boston then leaving i dont believe any player they want to stay where they are. At the end of the day it is your choice, and is your life, do what want to be happy as a person. what you need as a person matter WAY more than what i want as a fan. At the end of the day if people are mad at your choice, are they really your fan?

  • I'm only about halfway thru listening but as a New Yorker and Knicks fans I haven't heard the deep and urgent questions needing an answer about one of the leading scorers coming to NYC and then being disrespected and even trashed publicly eventually by Phil and immediately by the unfair and nasty Media in NY. How did he feel when the Media made it out to be Lin's team and the never before witnessed hysteria by a " gazillion " Chinese fans of Lin many of who were not Knicks fans? How did it feel to be a revered scorer only to come home to NY and be labelled a selfish, no defense, ball stopper? Why no team picked him up for a long time and what happened when he left NY are interesting subjects, but what happened in NYC the biggest and most curious by far.

I've been a fan of Carmelo's for a while the main theme I'm getting is just, the sports media is just awful and organizations and coaches don't understand how to adjust to the changes of the game and players. Melo career shouldn't be going this way at all smdh. Dude is a bonafide scorer and he can't be utilized the right way the name of the game is put the ball in the hoop and defend, how did we get so far away from that. At this point I'm starting to see that on certain teams there aren't enough basketballs to go around

  • This triangle talk kinda exposing these guys a bit. Two guys laughing at the triangle who not only have a combined zero championships but both have lost to that very offense and coach who dominated with it for two decades in Phil Jackson. Melo lost to it in ‘09 only to never even get that far in the playoffs again and JJ was on that Orlando team that got violated by Kobe & Co. that same year.😂😂😂 So what is JJ talking about it was easy to guard??? You were easy to guard in that series hahaha. I’m dead lol. Melo, love you but you didn’t win win with any offense and neither did JJ. So Melo should have sold out to the triangle. Js

  • You say you're willing to sacrifice but you got to "get your mental right"? So...are you a pro basketball player or not? Can you adapt to extraordinary situations or not? Melo thinks, at the time of this video and comment, that he's still a top 10 player in the NBA. That's what a year on a mediocre Portland Trailblazers team that was so desperate to get Dame help they made Melo a 3rd option, made the playoffs, but flamed out in the first round, will do to a guy like Carmelo Anthony - make him feel like he's still a starter or even a #1 option. Just to be honest and fair I love Melo as a Nugget and as a Knick! When he was good, he was GOOD. He'll be a second (maybe even first) ballot HOF easy. I wish he would just retire right now and walked off into the sunset with the memory of his last season being a meaningful one in Portland, but he's probably going to come back for one more...or another.

Had he waited and come summer of 2011 as a FA it would have been a total different situation. I know he wanted to lock in that extension but that was a big part of the reason they fell off so quick.
