  • 35:10 whenever u drill holes into the body (bare metal) shouldn't u put on some kind of rustprotection again? I mean however little of a problem it might become, with such a build you shouldn't skip the small perfectionist steps

    James BrandonJames Brandon9 күн мурун
    • You've been doing it correctly. The fella in the video was wrong and tightened the bearing much too tight. The factory service manual says to seat the bearing at 12 ft-lbs, spin rotor, then back off and tighten finger tight. If cotter pin cannot be installed, then further back off until the pin can be installed. Endplay should be .001-.005 inch I believe.

  • when i was 18 (about 3 years ago) i bought an old 68 firebird. original color was olive green like that. everything essentially the same as the body for the comaro and firebird were almost identical. Found the firebird in minesota. relatively as rock solid as it gets for a car in the north. body panels were rock solid. only concern being floor pans. unfortunately i had to sell it. but god damnit was it a perfect car for restoring. i couldnt pass it up at the time and i never could get to fixing it after losing a pretty good job. wasnt my fault either :\. but yeah. i wish i coulda done this with that old beauty.

  • @14:50 I still see a lot of rust around the patch that has been removed. I am not an expert so what I am saying might sound stupid. Is this the right thing to leave there? Or should one better remove the entire body panel to shave off all rust and give it a protective coat?

  • Watching this was a great build. I built an '85 T-bird that was pure h3ll. What was Ford thinking when they designed the water jacket? Watching this threw me back back to the early 2000's when I did the build. Unfortunately I didn't have some of the tools and stuff like vacuum schematics so it took a good half year to get it right. But I enjoyed watching the Limelight tear down and restoring minute by minute like I was there. I'm subscribed. Thanks!

  • Man this brings back memories of My Teens in the 70’s early 80’s. We were ALL Motorheads. My Neighbor was a Cop during the week and Drag Racer on wknds. The wknds were filled with smelling rubber, from the Burnouts on the street, to the Chung Chung Chung of the Cam. These were ALL Street legal cars, with PA. Inspections. We bought Ex drag cars with blown motors for cheap. We had a 32 Ford truck, Chopped and Channeled with a 427, a 66 Chevy Biscayne with a 396, My 62 Chevy ll with 283 punched out to 301, SHAG NASTY, a 36 Chevy Coupe with a Blown 427, a Bug with a 327, and a Vega with a 427!! Bought from racing money and working. We didn’t care about matching Motors or Trans. Most important was that the Title and the Tags matched. There was nothing better than getting laid, smoking Pot, racing, and building a new Car. Every wknd We’d go down to Front Street in Philly and race for Cash or Titles. That My Cop Neighbor was a Grease Money too, We had the fastest cars and the best equipment. And if You blow a Motor, just go to the junkyard and get another one. Wow that was fun. Nice to see the Old Eisen, the Real Muscle cars getting their PROPS!! Living in Europe They crave the Army Cars, but here EVERYTHING is very Bureaucratic. What We drive on US roads, would NEVER be able here. Thanks for the Memories and great video.

  • I've found over the years the key to tuning a Chevy quickly and painlessly is to do it by vacuum. You can dance around all week fiddling with the carb & distributor with a timing light and that light will lie to you a lot while you chase down the perfect tune.
