  • I feel like if you truly plan to live in these apartments (this and the 20k) you should just save up and buy the whole apartment. Also the fuck is this about 8 different A/C units especially in the same room, if you can sperate it kinda makes sense but if you have two individually controlled units you are gonna be running that bad boy 24/7 due to 1 degree difference in setting racking up that power bill and potentially sabotaging the unit itself since they are not design to be running 24/7 but instead intermittent as needed to maintain temp. 80k is pretty steep for initial move in but I imagine most people who can fork 20k a month have more then 80k in the bank and then some, its kinda crazy though if you compare the difference in living cause personally that dishwasher and such didn't even seem that top of the line and for it not to be kinda adds up with dishwashers in general being rare. Personally with japan's rather robust public transportation looking for something out of tokyo is probably more ideal since bullet trains etc. can get you all across the country mostly, also comes down to your job and how much commuting you're willing to do which having a commute driving is something 99% of americans are used to but not something alot of japanese due if they are located in a city as public transport typically gets you there pretty reliably. But then again what do I know.

  • Wow ! FABULOUS, but not worthy of $13,000/month !!! I grew up in setagaya & later we ended up having two houses ,we were the only one amongs our old neighbours & classmates to have a garbage dispisal & duct vent in the kitchen that sucked the cooking smoke up & dish washier ,w/d s,entercom to communicate w/ each other in the late 70's ( til 2013 )w/ a high tech bath tub & toilets & later another one ( my dad owned two houses in setagaya ,one in Seijo )one of 'em came w/ a huge walking closet & everything else I mentioned ,but he didn't pay $12,000/ month !!! We had gardens at both locations ! We had a summer vacation house in Karuizawa that had 20 jo bedroom & it was in a forest ,right across from the emperor's summer vacation place w/ a long drive way & a very huge yard ,but none of those would had charged others for $12,000/ month if we decided to rent 'em !!! Lol.Besides ,though ,that is a very good location ,but VERY INCONVENIENT AREA FOR TRANSPORTATIONS !! That's definitely OVER PRICED !!! Though we didn't have 2 kitchens & 2&1/2 bathrooms & 2 walking closets ! We had a luxury bathroom & 2 toilets at both Tokyo Setagaya-ku residents ! So...I would say $5,000 -$7,000 will do the justice !? Please stay safe ! 💜💜💜🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶💕💞P.S.CORRECTION : the location was not inconvenient at all ! That name " Kagurazaka " got us confused ! As that is an area finds it hard to get around ! But, Gakugeidai is very convenient ! So.

  • Man, people tell me tokyo is expensive, but I pay $500 a month for a ROOM in the states. Surely it is smaller than the japanese apartments. I don't like sharing a kitchen and bathroom, but the cheapest place I can live with actual job opportunities. Studios are at least $1700 a month here. It's cheaper to rent a place in tokyo.

  • What do the big tech companies do if/when they second staff to Japan for, say, 6 months or a year? If they tried to squeeze me into one of those shoeboxes or make me stay in a hotel for that time, I'd go insane. Do they help you essentially with a sponsorship to secure something that won't turn you claustrophobic in the first week? Obviously not this sort of place, but at least something with decent separate living, kitchen, bath, bedrooms?

  • Great Architecture heavy video - Nice! Best (to me) points are; 1:09 - Sharla trying to pet a DOG, almost like a CAT... but not entirely. 2:56 - Sharla has balcony envy. Yet, her balcony is nearly as big, come on! 4:50 - Best quote, "What it doesn't have is a TV... LIKE MY BATH!!!" 6:05 - "These are PROPER washing machines." 8:26 - "Is that an Ovennnnnnn?" 8:58 - Sharla dies of appliance love. 12:05 - Pug vs. Pen 14:25 - About having pets in Japan, "...and I should know", picking up Pug. Scottie the Pug steals the show!!!

Yeah it's large, but apart from that none of the features seem modern - I can't imagine paying $13,000/month for an apartment and having 8 A/C remote controls to manually operate for example, apartments for 1/3 of that price here would have smart home systems with an app that would let you control everything from your phone. And that's just one aspect of that apartment :D
