Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: kgworld.info/wiki/video/qtl9p5eZfGyuyJ0), we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎
I’m from Nebraska, and yes that’s how the weather here works.
Yeah, get some winter wipers and studded snow tires. That whole area can get bad fast
that happened to me in south Connecticut almost into nyc, freak snow storm, i was loaded with my truck and horse trailer, out of no where I almost ran into an 18 wheeler that did not have working lights. I could not stop praising my husband for his good driving skills to get around it and miss it.
As a Canadian, this made me laugh 😂
Oh that’s interesting. Note to Hollywood, it is easier to feign crying if you’re wearing sunglasses.
How do you get tires to squeal on ice?
Your titles are so “Drama Queen”. I guess that’s what you are willing to do to get the click$. It feels like I’m watching one of those scripted “reality” TV shows. I bet you have amazing “fish that got away” stories.
We were thinking of driving to Yellowstone from Sacramento 2 weeks ago and I'm glad it didn't happen.
Omg. If every one in Norway. Drive so bad in winter. The whole country would shyt down. This is not a winter storm. Trust me 😆😆 But maybe it would help with winter tires.
Just discovered your vlog. Glad you both are safe. Watch a marathon of your vlogs from your visit to the Philippines (I’m Filipino) until you upgrade your van. Not knowing that it was already 2:30 AM. Then got to wake up early today with for my run. Tired while running due to lack of sleep but it is worth it. Your videos are so beautiful very clear and the shots are amazing. Most of all it is very informative. Love it. Continue what your doing.
The most dangerous part of winter traveling in the US is your first step outside your hotel in the morning. Many proprietors are too cheap or lazy to throw a little ice melt outside the exits to keep people from slipping on icy ground and bashing their heads in.
Where did you go in Nebraska? Safe travels guys!
driving in those conditions is truly terrifying, so sorry you guys went through that, and glad you made it to safety
When did they go to South Carolina and what was the video?
Thank God you are both alive. I don't know you you all but this video had me balling my eyes out while you were explaining th accident that didn't happen. Glad you both are safe & thanks for the video. Me and my partner are heading to Yellow Stone on the 21st till the 25th. We live in Hollywood and I can't wait to see it. Have fun! New sub! 🙏 -Peace, Jerry ✌️
This woesn’t even bad welcome to the Midwest
Tip for the day? Don't drive in bad weather?
Thanks goodness you guys are okay
MY FACEBOOK RYAN ARIENZA
ENJOY THE NATURE GUYS
go live in Alaska for a few years..... then nothing will phase you....
Welcome to South Dakota. From a person from SD slow down and pay more attention then what you would normally.
We were thinking of driving to Yellowstone from Sacramento 2 weeks ago and I'm glad it didn't happen.
Thank you, thank you for sharing your trip to Yellowstone! We spent late winter to late summer there in 2018 and still can't find the right words to describe the place. Magnificent doesn't quite cut it. It's beyond that. The bison jams we're faves of ours. So glad to see YNP in winter through your eyes. So glad you made it there safely. Happy trails!
trust me , its Way worse to be In the Semi
Thank you Jesus for keeping them safe 😭
If you never drive in snow and ice. Yellowstone is not a good place to start. Very stupid on your part.
I know I’m a week late but the worst time to drive with snow if right after. There’s usually black ice and you can’t see it, it just looks like the road is wet. Then you slip and slide and that’s when the most accidents happen. I’m glad you guys are okay!
Omg this new generation .. crying good god no wonder why we have cancel culture
Stay in the 18 wheeler's tire tracks and don't use your brakes too much, let your engine do the breaking. Hang in there and hope for the best, good luck driving on black ice.
black ice is very scary.
You are so pretty
Thank you for taking us to Yellow stone!
That’s nothing try driving on are roads in Canada during winter
I live pretty close to Yellowstone national park and I highly recommend going in the summer
How about checking the weather!
I’ve always lived in Florida and have never seen snow or black ice. Wow. It’s beautiful but terrifying.
Been in that weather way too much in the mid west, used to drive home for Christmas every year 13 hours white knuckling it. Other drivers always were the scary part. Honestly I was more scared for you when you were in India and you talked about the drunken crowds of men attacking women. Really enjoying your van videos, maybe more than your old travel videos.
I've only been there in summer. Thanks for the great winter footage!
This is the reason we in Finland this things called winter tires... :DD
Tysm for my English assignment
CLICK BAIT NOTHING SCARY your welcome saved you 20mins of ur life it's just the heated water coming out the ground no accidents or near death scenarios
Love the sapphire pool. Saw it in September and it’s so pretty.
Me living in MN and looking at this like it’s normal
I think it was much worse when they walked on a glacier in Switzerland. Feel like this was nothing
wow this is the scariest thing i've ever seen in my whole life, but then again i am from western india
nice
What camera do you use?
Firstly there’s no need to cry! I mean that’s just dramatic fir dramatics sake. Second always carry chains fir your tyres. Third slow down ffs.
They were in a serious situation and talking about how scary it was then they saw a subway and it all went away for a second. Subway makes everything better
😂 the dude in a hoodie and shorts in the middle of this snow storm is the definition of Canadian 😅 he was prepared lol he planned for this 😂
i think we all are travelling together with kara and nate 💜
The even excellent excited children subjectively encourage because band ethnically steer excluding a measly mary. magical, cautious hood
US should invest with their snow tires for each states every winter like in Canada or other countries. Because you never know when a random snow storm, frozen rain, ice snow will come in your way like this one.
I just started watching their videos a couple days ago and am now so fully invested I was very much tearing up hearing them describe it because I absolutely know that fear.
I can’t look at Nate and not think he looks so much like Cristiano Ronaldo...
Carry chains, and you're fine. Living in a nice roomy van like that means you have nowhere to go fast. You learn patience and how to enjoy the moment that way. It's good for you.
Note they are from Nashville TN. Us Tennesseans aren't built for any kind of inclement weather. Quarter inch of snow = inclement weather for us lol
I experienced these conditions in a camper van coming from WinterPark back to Denver during a nasty snow storm a couple weeks ago. So glad you guys are okay!!!
Glad you made it safely. I really enjoyed the beautiful video of Yellowstone, great job!
WI driver here with a Corolla. 1. Slow the down, like real down. 2. Take away distractions. 3. Follow somebody cautiously. 4. Use hazardous if you sense danger. 5. If you feel what your about to do is dangerous then it is. 6. If have a moment and slide don’t brake , let off the gas gently and be careful. 7. If you don’t need to be on the road don’t be.
“It’s negative two degrees, the coldest that we’ve tried to sleep in this van” “I’m turning on the heater”
Yes, Glad you made it safe.
Please be careful to wear a mask when near people, even outside. I love you guys, but it worries me that you're talking to people without a mask in the middle of a pandemic. Please be safe!
I learnt alot about black ice from my dad and dang when something as big and heavy as an 18-wheeler goes off the road you know it's series btw i live in a small mountainy town in Tennessee and it gets really bad here sometimes during the fall and winter and the wildlife consists of deer, bear, coyotes, birds crows and hawks included, snakes, turtles, rabbits, lizards if i can remember correctly, fish, insects, spiders and when humans first settled this town that i live in there were elk and buffalo and wolves but unfortunately they were all driven and hunted out of the area
Canadians drive in this 6 months out of the year!
That's very fast to be driving on an icy road, did the cars coming towards you at a very low speed not give you an idea of how fast you should be going?
You need to get chains for your tires because of slipping pls be carefully slow is fast and slow is smooth my dad owns a 18 wheeler he gave me this advise
Holy shit! If you are crying over some ice and a "close call" you both must have not seen a single struggle going through life with your parents probably babying you growing up. Get a grip you loon
Why in the world were you driving so fast?! Roads like that you gotta go, like... 25? Especially with low visibility and a big ole van that'll take a while to come to a stop.
Not to make light of your scary driving situation...... but where did you get your cute tie dye sweatshirt?:)
You know it takes winter tyres to be safe on the ice and snow ? Hi from Sweden 😉✌🏽
OMG What a trip, that spin must have made your lives flash before you're eyes, but you made it. Thank goodness!. What a fantastic video. Those geysers were amazing. Stay Safe, Hugs UK
As a swede this feels like nothing to me, doesn’t look scary at all but I can totally understand that this might feel scary for those who aren’t used to it. Drive safe :)
“Gawd minus 4 is cold!” belly laughs in French Canadian 😂🥶
Waaaauw i visited Yellowstone in summer but this wauw! Thanks for another very nice video ♥️
This is a daily drive in Utah from November - March 😂.
And I need Kara's tye dye hoodie! Super Cute! 😘💖and I happen to hate snow!
I adore you two, but snow tires exist for a reason! Come to Upstate N.Y. or Buffalo N.Y. in the winter! It's was way worse! And watching baby girl cry flippin killed me! If you ever need a Winter driver....hmu! I loooooovers you sooooooo much!
Welcome to the Midwest!
Don’t go to Minnesota during the winter if you think those roads are bad😂
Had our fun in a much worse snow storm through Montana whilst driving a Penske van. I'm from Nebraska/Iowa. So snow driving is much more a norm.
Bad news is you were fools to try and do this drive in the winter.
Welcome to Wyoming !
We will need lots of caffeine 🤣 glad you guys made it safe. Have a super fantastic day. Thanks for sharing your ups and downs in travel. Many blessings too you guys. 🙏🏾
Ha this is every winter I mn 🤣 that's why we retired in fl
The half approval phylogentically whine because whistle spindly check modulo a smart hyena. axiomatic, warlike reduction
Who needs winter tires?! We have a camper van.
And cue the dramatics Meryl Streep . 😒Lol! You’re so scared but made sure to get every drop of those croc tears on film. That whole damsel in distress, gets no play over here so you can wipe the doe eyed Bambi watching her mother get shot and strapped to the back of the a pick up truck look off your face. I’m glad you two are ok but you could of left the extras including the screeching tires sound clip on the cut floor! A bit over the top don’t you think?!
I totally understand last Oct my family and I where driving back to IL from Spokane WA. We got hit by a snow storm in Oct around Billings Montana. Yep we had to stay a night and try to find a ice scraper to buy. It snows a lot crazier up north.
Your camera is so clear - video looks great. Also if you come out our way be aware of the Pacific Ocean - sneaker waves get someone every year! Mostly tourist but sometimes locals who get careless.
I'm from south africa and I would never get to see this, thank you for sharing your beautiful country with those around the world.
My favorite yt ministry in South Africa is what’s up prof with Walter Vieth
There are probably very friendly farmers wherever you see bins and farm yards.....we would be one of them!
Welcome to the Midwest!
if you go to Yellowstone in the winter you miss the bears. Seeing the big grizzly bears lumbering along is so cool.
You probably got off the road too late. What is your hurry? 13 hours? You have no schedule, make that 12 days.
Nate good job, growing up Minn I got a wide variety of driving. You guys did exactly what you. should PULL OFF, and hang out! CCC Austin, TX. Like the buffalo!
WTF are you doing wearing sunglasses in a blizzard.
HAZARD lights on Always when you’re driving in snow/rain storms even fog! 🇨🇦
That happened to me on the road in upstate New York, i am 19 and was alone I had a meltdown after. I would’ve went into ditch.. scariest thing ever when you aren’t in control anymore
Why the hell did you think it would be anything but? Shit like this is what gets you killed.
I know this is a tiny thing, but thanks for putting the celsius there also. I'm from EU and it's nice when you don't have to think how much that would be 😂💚
