Its sad that people steal, and hopefully they are punished to the extent needed, and furthermore, hopefully it doesnt happen again. Deion could do great things as a coach I believe. The man knows the game and has more than enough love for the game. I hope his tenure there is a good one, and that someone sees that he can handle a school like FSU.

To me this is holding the city of Jackson accountable and showing them “we’re stronger if we stand together”. It’s always a bad look how somebody handles something until ur put in that situation. Sanders could be a powerful tool to not only put JSU and ASU on the map.. .. But put the entire SWAC on the map. They better take care of that man long story short. If people robbed you when you bringing national attention to a hbcu program then the people around you need to get their act together and stop stealing

  • I'm glad he did it the way he did it. It puts the school on notice that this kind of behavior is present and will not be tolerated. This also lets people know that Jackson, Mississippi is a VERY POOR city and state for that matter. This provides context to how Deion and every recruit will have to conduct themselves in a city that does not necessarily see this as an opportunity to better themselves in the correct way but take shortcuts. I can also tell you that not everyone is happy about Deion coming to town, mainly because he will hold everyone in that University and Town accountable. It is an interesting experiment.

If anything he should be pissed that the school is trying to hide or cover the incident and subvert him when the school should be trying to investigate the situation and stand behind the truth and what is right. They’re lucky to have Deion as their coach.

  • As a BLACK math teacher ...I started opening the gym after school, puting on auditorium programs, since I'm a gospel pianist I started 7 high school Gospel choir's across the Midwest. However each school that I taught & worked extra at... There were always racist teachers who did everything go get me in TROUBLE or FIRED. They STALKED ME because I'm that GIFTED. Their intentions were to get me to LEAVE their town & allow BLACK YOUTH to be under their CONTROL. I taught at 8 different schools in 5 different states but guess what my REWARD has been? .. I an NOW considered the BEST math teacher that they had EVER seen. I took on a student that hadn't passed math since grade 5 & is now a 11th grader. His ENTIRE demeanor changed. He began being the 1st student to class daily with pencil & paper ready to begin. I'm a PErSONALITY EXPERT. ...I can REACH nearly anyone....if I use a students personality to teach them math. Recall is much simpler when the student uses math from their own ENVIRONMENT. Example: I teach geometry (most failed math class in the world) to football players by using the fields parallel & perpendicular LINES. All my football clients have PASSED after I did that.

Hope I did not surprise you but WE have STORIES to TELL you about our ATTEMPTS to TAKE BACK our neighborhood from young criminals. Cops INTERACT with young criminals that the COPS threaten to ARREST us QUICKER than they'll arrest a young suspect they're aquatinted with. By doing this ...the cop hopes to gain ARREST & PROMOTIONS That's ALL most non-black cops are there for. So stop with your LIES AMERICA. This is also about YOU & your HATE

  • Integrity should mean something. Flat out lying about something that happened because you are worried that the image of the college will be tarnished is wrong. Deion was 100% right here. He called a spade a spade. I have more respect for him calling out what really happened. I am sure families of potential students can separate one individual's actions against the entire college. Give us a break Stephen A.

Deion does not have to be there him being there is a blessing and the community as a whole I'm sure will to come together and make sure he is protected as he is bringing a lot to the university and HBCU's as a whole. I don't think this will ever happen again as a result of the call out .

  • I totally disagree with Stephen A. Smith. Deion is absolutely correct! People have to hold themselves and their community to a higher standard. IF you see someone doing something dishonourable, you call them out. Do not wait for someone else to do it, do it yourself! If something is unacceptable, DO NOT ACCEPT IT! He is calling for the improvement of every aspect of that environment. Everyone! And calling out the theft of his property, so that people understand the ills of the current environment, and know that this behaviour will not be tolerated, is one step towards bettering the situation! In answer to Stephen A.’s question, why should people go to Jackson State? They should go there because there is a new sheriff in town, one who is committed to changing the culture of the community, that’s why!

  • If your child, relative, friend, or aquatints, at ANY AGE is a criminal, TURN YOUR the person into the POLICE; otherwise, you care nothing for the person. This is Embarrassing. I am glad Coach Prime made it public. This is the only way it will stop. Do not enable criminal behavior by anyone. If you do, you not only don't care about the person, you don't care anything about the community you live in nor the businesses you are a patron to. If a person is a criminal, it reflects on the parenting they received.. at some point the parenting enabled this criminal behavior or continues to enable criminal behavior. This goes for anyone who accepts or pays for stolen goods. It's all criminal behavior. Do not accept stolen goods. If people want better & safer communities , people have to do their part to make the community better and safer.

  • Deion is changing the culture and this helps. Jackson State had their school president arrested for running a prostitution ring within last few years. SAS handling it differently is what many HBCU’s have done which is how they’ve gotten to this point. JSU campus police should’ve have already been working with Deion to make sure locker room and offices were secure.

  • This also brings up another issue. The poverty level in these communities as this isnt the first issue Deion has had there. Until these cities get higher paying jobs and careers for citiznes, expect more crimes regardless of who ppl take from. Some desperate ppl out here and they will take just to eat. Fixing this isnt just an easy fix. Its going to take a State and Local effort to bring opportunities to stop the crime in low income areas. Crime = low income areas. Its a reason rich/wealthy communities have less crime. No reason to steal.

  • Stgephen A gets on the real black communities nerves. Handled it differently. Who stole from who? Problem is we dont call ppl out. This doesnt hurt him saying he was stolen from. He helped calling ppl out. If we want black ppl of prominence to return to our community and give back we cant be stealing from them. Had he said nothing we wouldnt be aware it happened and maybe someone else tries Deion again. This way, its out their and ppl are aware. Black adults with common sense get it. We get why Deion called them out. Multi Millionaire coaching for the love of hte game and black community should never have anyone taking from him. They arent paying Prime enough to head coach. He can make plenty more doing easier careers/jobs. We have to check our own ppl like Prime did. Thanks Prime for being a real one.
